Yes. All factors considered, I don't think this is a smart fight for Khan.

I can see how this may turn out to be a very smart move but.. as of right now I have to think the risk/reward is not what it should be for Khan in this.

I hope barrera kills him in the ring, and I don't wish that on most boxers. But I like barrera alot.

Do you dislike Khan? He seems like a fairly will and eager student of boxing. I'd feel bad for him if he got embarassed.. at the same time its impossible to fully pull against a warrior like Barrera.

This was a great move... several positives and only one negative that I can think of. First, Khan will definately win. This is not a fight he's going to lose, and Warren knew that. Warren is the most guarded promoter in the sport and does not let his people get into fights they might lose. Barrera is great, but he has no chance of winning. But he has a huge name and its believed that he still has greatness in him.

The only drawback, is after winning, Khan will have to deal with accusations that Barrera was shot and that Khan should pick on someone his own size and age.

A loss to Khan could hurt Barrera's career, Khan fights like an amateur who leaves himself open to counter-shots.

This almost sounds like sarcasm considering recent events.. It is possible that Warren is a different type of promoter since Calzaghe and Hatton have turned on him. He is obviously proned to mistakes and a lot of the variables point to a very very competitive fight. Whoever wins, I really think it is going to be close. At this stage I'm not sure Khan needs to be in a heated do or die situation. A loss could really spiral his confidence into the ****ter.

Calzaghe turned on him because he claimed he could have gotten bigger fights a lot earlier in his career and that Warren was afraid to take risks, especially making fights outside the UK. I agree with you on Khan not needing to be in a do or die situation, thats why Barrera is the perfect fight for him right now.

It's a cynical fight, Khan's team clearly believe Barrera to be far gone. The thing is a 60% MAB is better than any previous Khan opponent.
