Yup, it was and if the fight happens it probably will be.

    £15x 1,400,000 = £21,000,000 + advertising. or $30,000,000

    £50x 500,000 = $25,000,000 + advertising.

hatton brings 30% of the US market, Pacman brings 0% of the Uk market.

And if you read my thread, I say that the networks need to get payed, so the figures will be lower, but other forms of revenue will bring the purse's back to around the level I was quoting.
i just scanned thru it, sorry.

      £20 is a bit steep.

          He's taking the piss!

Do you know that every Pacquiao fight there in the Philippines are shown via short circuitTV? Hundreds of theatres are showing the fight for $10 to $15 a head. A normal size movie house there have a minimum capacity of 1500, and all Pacquiao fights are sold out each and every time.

They charge £15 per order there in UK were it can seen by as much as many people a house can hold, while they are charge there per person, so what you're saying is far from the truth...

Pacman brings 0% of the UK market?

If it breaks the UK PPV boxing record, it's because Hatton is fortunate to be fighting the best boxer in the world!

0% of the market by himself. Hatton can get 500,000+ buys fighting Witter.

But does any of that money go towards the share for the fight? I doubt if it's official takings, it's just some opportunist Pinoys looking to make a few quid?

                    Purses

the fighters usually get about 55% percent of the gross amount of the purse. Here is the breakdown of percentages:

                    fighter - 55%
                    trainer - 10%
                    manager - 33 1/3
                    training expenses - ??? undetermined
                    lawyers - ???

Now this is not to mention the taxes from the government of there country. I am not sure how taxes are calculated in the phillipines.

as a fighter you want to get as much money as possible. the only fighters who get the lion share of their money are the ones who are self managed and the promoter. (ex. oscar de la hoya). but very few fighters are business savvy enough to manage their own careers. as you can see, you manage yourself, that's 88% of the gross..

manny is considered the best fighter in the world, so you can see why he wants the larger share. can you really blame him ??? can he make the kind of money he is projected to make with anybody else?? no. (except of course mayweather). the fight will go on, manny just has to see if he can get more; it happens all the time in negotiations for big time fights

how do you think mayweather felt about the rematch against oscar. even afer beating oscar, mayweather still would be getting less than de la hoya and he was the best fighter on the planet.

I'm just proving that Pacman has his own pull, and it's anywhere in the world, including good ol' England. you're trying tomake it look like Pacquiao is basically useless when it comes to selling this fight. For all intents and purposes, I'm all for an equal share of the loot, because both boxers brings something on the table...
