I find MMA less entertaining and with inferior athletes. I watch it sometimes and some of the fights are quite good. But boxing is more err professional with better conditioned athletes imo.

There are some exceptions though, a younger Randy couture or Anderson silva for example, are truly elite MMA fighters. To bad there isn't more like them. There are more bums in that sport than boxing.

Just wanted to make it clear to everyone that the only reason I champion MMA so much is because it has made my life so much more entertaining as a whole and if some of you would just let down your gaurd down a bit you guys too would also have another sport Love, *****, complain, and have fun with.

I think MMA is good for boxing...boxing needed something nipping at their heels, some sort of direct competition...I was a bit skeptical of MMA at first, but now as I watch more and more of it....I'm a big fan...it will never be bigger than boxing though...the simple mechanics of two guys ONLY punching each other will always be too universal for MMA to overcome...just like soccer is compared to every other sport from a world wide aspect...a ball and your feet will always be more popular than every other sport....

Now everyone trains to be the same type of fighter - ok striking skills with good ground work, etc.

It just lost its luster to me and most of the time i find the fights too boring or too quick.

          just my opinion.
you might like some of old Pride events...they would have open weight tournaments...big dudes fighting small dudes...

So when fighters throw a punch and immediately block or duck? That is just a defensive method that is instilled by knowing that a right hand or left hook is coming. to know that it is coming without ever seeing the punch is incredible.

The way that Marg knew the left hook would be open on Cintron after Cintron threw his in the 2nd fight which was the KO punch was superb. He threw the punch off of a defensive move. It was set up and he knew what Cintron would throw which is why in that split second he was able to land the big shot...

MMA is jsut throw bombs, grab, and twist a limb.... whoopdi freakin doo.
MMA is just as much a thinking mans sport as boxing is. The fact that you say this makes me think that you haven't seen hardly any MMA fights.

That is a straight up ignorant thing to say man. If anything, there is more to think about in MMA. You have to watch out for take downs kicks and submissions as well as punches.

You don't know what you're talking about.

I think this is a lot of it too. I mean, a fighter is a fighter, gotta respect them. MMA fanboys too me are annoying as hell!! And the whole UFC and who it tries to appeal to, with their heavy metal music and ****. I dunno it's just a big turn off imo at how they present the sport.

So I wanted to ask you guys a couple of questions that might help me figure out how so many of you are just so Anti-fun?

                  1. Does boxing have to be the more popular of the two sports for you to actually enjoy it?

                  2. Why are so many of you so insecure about you sexuality that you have to compare grappling with ****sexual sex?

                  3. Im sure a lot of you like other sports like football, baseball. and basketball so why doesn't the same hate you have for MMA transfer over to these sports.

                  4. How can you deny yourself endless forms of combat and tons of entertaining matchups in both sports? In january alone I get to watch 5 major title fights since I'm a big fan of both sports while all of you MMA haters get a whole two title fights.

                  5. Why do you hate fun and multiple forms of entertainment?

All I ask is that if you answer my questions you will at least put the same effort into them that you put into the boxing threads on this message board.

Well one thing that pisses me off about it more than anything is threads like these, because MMA fans like to tell us how popular MMA is and how Boxing is dying, yet all they ever do is piggy back off Boxing to get some notoriety which imo tells you all you need to know about MMA as a sport.

I see what you mean. They do kind of have a WWE flavor to the way they present the sport to the public.

Not to mention their commentator is best known for being a horrible stand up comedian, who used to double as a TV show host on NBC in which contestants ate bulls testicles and dried up cow ****.
