i watched frank warren on setanta sports boxing hour, he was on there with steve bunce. he was saying that khan was going to face a real legend and was was going to be in a huge fight soon. that made sense to me as sky have stuck their neck out for khan only for him to be KTFO by a relative unknown.

MAB is a well known fighter and someone that sky PPV will have been interested in having on the show.

i think even at this stage of his career MAB has too much he knows he only needs to land one good flush shot.

...but I'm not too keen on this fight. Yes Barrera is a Hall of Famer and a modern great, but he is past his best and by quite a distance.
Yeah but even past his best he is still better than Khan. For Khan to win he has to put the work in, and carry on improving his defence. If Khan could stop Barrera (something Pac could not do in Barrera's 2nd last fight) I would give him major rep. A win would be a major acheivement for Khan.

Damn right. When Amir wins he wins early. Barrera has only been stopped once by Manny. Even if Amir improves his defence, unless the stops Barrera(which is unlikely) he has to contend with 12 rounds of constant pressure.

This would be a big win for Khan.

is this the sort of calzaghe-Lacy matchup in terms of warren?

Wow, pretty shocked at this fight being made. Really out the blue. I think Warren is now looking at Barrera being a old fighter who's seen better days, but i still think he may just have to to much for Amir, i also thought they would bring Khan back slowy, Barrera is a very tough cookie, a vetran who fought the best of his era.Should be interesting.

I agree, naz did achieve a lot you cant compare the 2 in that respect. I think he meant the result but in my eyes he'll do khan inside the distance!
