Also, after being demolished the way he was by Williams in the rematch, Quintana needs a good win against someone else first, or a third fight wouldn't sell.

why didnt paul give Quintana a third fight?

cuz he overwhelmingly beat him in the rematch, to reinforce what MOST smart boxing fans already knew….PW overlooked quintana the first fight. C'mon man, he had a fight signed w/ cintron, who got hurt and they threw in quintana. PW didn't even spar any lefties leading up to the fight. if thats not proof PW overlooked quintana, idk wat is. bottom line, after the rematch, even MOST ppl who thought quintana would win said the way he lost didn't warrant a 3rd fight. you wanna talk about my boxing knowledge? how many trilogies have you seen where a guy was knocked out in the FIRST round of the rematch??? c'mon man, you margarito fans find ANY, and i mean ANY excuse for the guy to avoid PW. trilogies are reserved for great battles, not rookie mistakes, then overwhelming statements. had the rematch with quintana been close, you can bet your ass there would've been a 3rd fight. That was a strategy fight, to prove he could fight at a higher weight. It led to Wright signing to fight him in the end (and talk of Pavlik fighting the winner), so it made business sense. If Quintana gets a good win against someone else, then calls out Williams, that fight would make a lot of sense, but after demolishing Quintana in their last fight, I don't think it would do anything for Williams' career if he beat Quintana again at this stage.

But if Margarito avenged his defeat to Williams it would greatly increase his stature with impartial boxing fans.

point is Marg wanted it and PW turned it down only to lose to Quinatana and ONLY since MARGO BEAT COTTO has PW been mentioing Margo's name. its about $$. Do some re search. MArgo and camp petitioned to become PW's mando after the PW fight.. PW and Goosen said "they were moving forward ".. they were looking for $$ and ended up 1-1 w/Quintana of all people...
