And how do you figure this? Margarito already kick the **** out of Cotto, this fight should be for the Lineal champion, the ring title should be on the line. It seems to me all Cotto-Rican nutthugers are the only ones against this fight being for the Ring title

I'd have no beef wit this fight bein for the Ring title. The Ring is thinkin triangle style usin Cotto's win over SSM as a reason to deny the belt bein contested, but it goes both ways. If SSM wins, he beat the guy who beat Cotto, so why wouldn't he be the champ if Cotto's #2 status is so damn important? If Marg wins, he'll have beaten both, so why wouldn't he be the champ?

Because he lost to Williams and is ducking a rematch with Williams.

I like the fact that the Ring is not going to recognize this fight because I feel the same way in regards to Margarito rematching Paul Williams. Margarito has fought some top guys at Welter but the one guy that was taller than him, beat him convincingly. If the Ring recognized Antonio Margarito after this Mosley fight then he would NOT give Paul Williams a rematch because he would not need Paul to claim the top spot. Beating Cotto and then Mosley doesn't impress me because them dudes are small guys, the one guy he couldn't beat was taller so I feel he still has something to prove.

If he can get passed Williams in a rematch then I would recognize him as the best at 147. That's why I said after he beat Cotto he should have immdediately went after Williams to lay claim on the #1 spot but I think he is trying to get as much off of this Cotto win as possible before facing Paul in my opinion.

You're missing the fact that The Ring no longer rates Williams at Welterweight, which means Margarito doesn't have to beat Williams to win The Ring championship. See my previous post on this subject.

The great match-ups are more likely to happen if they are fighting each other to be acknowledged as the best (i.e. the undisputed champion). So the history is vital to the great match-ups happening.

I don't disagree with you and my post wasn't meant that way that I think 4 world champions are right... because like you said there can only be one world champion but if there are 4 sanctioned bodies either one of them will crown their own champion (world champion). I don't like it and many of todays champions wouldn't even be close to a shot at the world champion if there would only be one but that's the way it is. Of course you can say that he's the best but that's objective. A world champion is a world champion what shall we do...

It's simply hard to judge... in the end a Mosley fight in terms of public appeal will do a lot more for him then a Williams fight. But who says that is the right fight for him or the division. If I'm right Mosley also ain't beaten a real good WW in a long time. Lost to Cotto... won against Mayorga (who ain't a 147 pounder) So I really don't see a reason why Mosley should be number 3.

I guess if Mosley wins they will find a way to give him the ring title but they don't believe he can pull it off... After what Margarito said to DLH you really think there is a way that Margarito gets the ring title without the last bit of a doubt before you can't do it any other way. NO WAY IN HELL!

I'm a huge Antonio Margarito fan. And frankly, I don't give two sh*its about this WELTERWEIGHT champion titie. All I care about is the Tijuana Tornado destroying everything in his path. All I care about is Margarito fighting like a true Mexican fighter and representing the Red, White and Green. Bring on Mosley, Cotto, Williams in 2009. Nobody can talk about Margarito because if he does beat Mosley next Saturday he will have alot of top welterweights in the world under his belt. Personally, I would like Margarito to clean up the division by storming through Mosley, Williams and Berto in the future because those are the only victims left on Margarito's list to terrorize. Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure Margarito is still hungry and that makes him very dangerous. People need to shut the **** up and recognize. And give my boy Margarito the credit deserved. Its easier said then done wanksters.
