Lewis is lucky Vitali got cut

Vitali kicked Lewis' ass and was winning 4-2 on all 3 judges scorecards. Lewis was dead tired and collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round. Vitali was the fresher fighter, he would've KO'd Lewis in the 7th or 8th round.

    Punches landed in that fight

    Vitali 156

    Lewis 102

Lennox "The Coward" Lewis has been ducking Vitali for 5 years. He turned down 25 million dollars for a rematch because is scared and he knows Vitali would knock his ass out.
ok, one the tyson that lewis KO'd was pretty much shot...

of course lewis would say that, he wouldnt want people to think he is a lazy fighter

it aint lucky vitali got cut, lewis caused the cut with his punches and must have been pretty effective if he managed to rip vitalis face open

lewis is old now, and happily retired, he beat vitali legitimately ....

Lennox holds all the cards apart from the chin department.

this must be the most discussed fight ever, haha...but I give.

Im always surprised by some people's views on this fight. maybe Im getting mixed up or something, but wasnt the last round of the fight the one in which Lewis landed that huge uppercut and actually hurt Vitali more with a short right hand toward the very end of the round that had vitali really grabbing Lewis?

anyways, I actually think that Lewis would win...but by decision. thats new, right? but yea, if Lewis was in better shape and better trained, he probebly wouldnt have gone after Vitali like he did in the real fight, and Vitali probebly wouldnt have gotten so cut up either. Lewis was never someone who thought it was completely necessary to get a KO, unless his opponent was ripe for the picking, he needed it or if it was totally necessary, and Vitali is a pretty durable fellow.

Both fighters usually put the opposition to sleep long before cuts where a factor.

Big V took an uppercut in the last round that would have floored just about any other HW in history, it was evil.

i'm not sure how being 2 rounds down with 6 to go having won the round before is an asskicking, Big V shipped some big shots in that last round.

Lennox Lewis's KO% is just under 73% that means 25% of opponents made it to the end of the fight.. Plenty of chance for a cut.. and 75% does not qualify as usually.. that is more like frequently .. usually is 90% and above

Actually the judges gave round 6 to Vitali.. and are you saying that Vitali was taking Lewis's best punches and still standing?? I am not sure who you are arguing for??

hmm so Lewis and Vitali were separated only by their punch resistance? Not the fact that Lewis was better on his feet, had a better jab, could handle being taken to the trenches, knocked out better opponents etc.... Lewis was FAR more proven in world championship fights. He had proven pedigree, Vitali doesn't.

Anyone who says LL would have KOd him is on crack. LL had trouble KOing people not anywhere near Vits level. I think LL could have won a decision but he would never have KOd him. LL hit him with shots that would have decapitated other HWs and Vit took them like a champ.
