Bernard does struggles with faster fighters but that doesn't he mean he cannot beat them and that doesn't mean he is overated,In his fights against Taylor and Calzaghe he could of easily been given the nod.
The fight against Jones isn't a good example as both fighters were green although to be fair Hopkins was the more greener of the two as he didn't have the same amateur background that Jones had.
All fighters have a certain style they struggle with, it does not mean they are overated.Comment

this has to be the most misunderstood thread posted....
bernard is great, im not taking anything away from him
but he isn't a LEGEND
he has shown that he is not that COMPLETE of a fighter
he can't even be competitive with fast fighters with great reflexes
roy jones jr
joe calzaghe
jermain taylor
chad dawson (whom he won't fight for reasons mentioned in the intial post)
Legend-a notable person whose deeds or exploits are much talked about in his or her own time.
most consecutive MW title defenses
victories over other fighters who qualify as LEGENDS under the proper definition.
steppin' up 2 divisions to capture the TRUE LHW title after ruling the MW division for over a decade, and since turnin' 40 he's fought nothing but top 10 p4p dudes, all current or former UNDISPUTED champs. At age 43 he fought 2 younger UNDEFEATED linear champs and gave out more hurt and bruises then he took......a LEGEND he is!!!Comment

in 1993 he couldn't handle RJ
and please don't give me that prime
bull****, they were on the same level
fighting for the ibf middleweight title on free tv
with an unsoldout arena
that fact tells a lot of the tale where they
both were in their careersComment
