If Hatton sticks by not budging from 50/50, then surely Pac has to take it. He knows 50% of a fight with Hatton is more money than he's going to be making fighting ANYONE else.

If Paquiao can't get a fight with Mayweather then he should back off of these demands. A fight with Mayweather might get him that type of money, but outside of that who the hell else is he going to fight for that type of money?

The fight will still get made, I have no doubt about it, there's too much money there for it to not get made, they'll probably settle for a split in between 50-50 and 60-40.

Spot on mate...more fights should be about winners taking a bigger percentage...great idea!
So if a big name was going to fight a fringe contender on PPV or something and the contender was getting the rough end of an 80/20 split purse...and beat the big name...he deserves a 60/40 split (40%) for his win.

              I agree with this.

Anyway, the fight will happen. Pac is just trying to get the best deal possible and refuses to sell himself cheap. Nothing wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with that up to a point. Roy Jones was always just trying to get the best deal possible and it cost us some great fights. Pacquiao has never let this rob us of seeing great fights in the past, but that was before he was on top of the boxing world. Let's hope he doesn't negotiate his way out of fights with Hatton and Mayweather.

I honestly don't think he'll negotiate his way out. This is just business tactics. The fight will be made, it's a huge event. They should go 50/50 though. Most definitely. As Roy would say.

I'm just saying that right now there are three fighters in their early 30s who fans want to see fight. It'd be a shame if they didn't all fight each other. It's not a knock on the Pacman, but boxing needs him to fight Hatton and Mayweather. And 50% of the pot with Hatton is a whole lot of money. Maybe more than he made to fight Oscar.
