Martinez is pretty good it's finally starting to show a bit now that everyones pulling out. These guys take the fights and then when they find out how good he is they pull out. King probably told Santos that Martinez was just a tuneup for something bigger. He probably used the fact that Sergio lost to Margarito and it would an easy fight. Then Santos probably seen some video and said **** that ****.Comment

BoxingScene.com has been informed that WBA junior middleweight champion Daniel Santos (32-3, 23KOs) has turned down the opportunity to face WBC interim-junior middleweight Sergio Martinez (44-1, 24KOs) on February 14. The fight was going to be televised by HBO, paired in a triple-header with Alfredo Angulo-Ricardo Mayorga and Nate Campbell-Ali Funeka. [details]Comment

Wasn't Santos scheduled to make a defense of his 154 lb. title this month??? So how is is overweight? Did he automatically hit the buffet as soon as his mandatory pulled out?
I'm just saying, this sucks! This would've been a good fight!Comment

Why when they just hurt themselves in the process? promoters are gonna be less inclined to pair them up with better fighters and they get stuck with average fights for average pay.
Oh and isn't it ironic that everyone says that Margarito is ducking this guy when Santos himself is clearly is ducking an even lesser fighter.
How so? If he is over weight and cant make the weight then he shouldn't fight.
Last thing he needs is a Guzman situation, then he is really f'ked.Comment
