Gamboa, like a lot of Cubans pro and amateur, fights with arrogance, it's just a trait with Cuban boxers, I don't know why. Anyways, he's actually a better fighter with his hands down, I am starting to believe he'll never be an effective fighter with his hands up, he loses a lot of fluidity when he does that, when he drops his hands, he becomes a much better fighter, the same fighter who got so much hype last year. I think his team should work on movement, both of head and foot for his defense and to keep his hands up occasionally, not all the time. I know it's not the best thing to do to ensure longevity but it seems like Gamboa will be one of those fighters who relies on reflexes more than anything else, and those fighter rarely have a long run of success.

As for Solis, he needs to lose weight, period. He has no business being close to 260 pounds, he has the skills and the moves to be successful but he needs to lose that weight, surprisingly his handspeed is still pretty good considering his weight but he can only fight in spurts now because of it and his feet are slower because of it as well.

I've been following Lara from about a few weeks after he turned pro, he looks like a really good prospect, high guard, accurate punches, fast, pretty good power, he's definitely one to look out for.

Probably because it's a world shaking upset whenever a Cuban loses in the amateurs... they are just so much better than everyone else generally, and that kind of attitude is bound to carry over when they turn pro, because after all, it's still boxing to them.

Casamayor is one of the most arrogant dudes ever, you are definitely right about that mentality it seems like.

By the way... did Lara look very aggressive and well schooled in his first two bouts like he did against Aguiar? I'm seriously considering giving this guy a trial run in my favorites, so... I'm curious, and don't want to be let down after getting my hopes up after one great, out of the ordinary, performance.

You can judge for yourself, I'd say he was a little tentative in the first, more aggressive in the second, he was the most aggressive I've seen him as a pro in his latest fight, the sharpest as well, he seems to be getting better fight by fight.

Not exactly great refereeing in the second fight.

Not exactly great refereeing in the second fight.

His first opponent actually looked like a pretty okay fighter... impressive.

The second fight's referee obvioulsy had no idea what the hell he was doing.

Thanks a lot Silencers, very much appreciated.
