    FNF Season opener

I was only able to watch the two fights; Solis and Gamboa. The Solis-Burrent fight was aiite. It was a pretty bad KO. I think in '09 they're gonna be soft on the fighters. I guess that's good, live to fight another day.

Gamboa's fight was interesting. He's a pretty good candidate for Cuba. He's not really ****y, but Mayorga type. That's why i like him. Gonzalez was able to make it past the 3rd round as Atlas predicted. If GOnzalez was in better condition and a little bit more determined, i think he could have won that fight.

I mean the guy was 27-2. Whomever he fought, he was able to come up with 27 wins. Gamboa looked solid though. For 126, he threw some rocks.

From what i watched, i think it was a pretty good FNF.

I missed it. Burnett looked messed up. I think Gamboa is going to be hella good this year. He'll definately get a marquee name within the next 3 fights.
Hella young too. 27 and a gold Medal. 13-0 is a really good record. Plus, it's in his blood.

I've known and heard about Gamboa since '05 when he turned pro. I knew he fought on FNF a few times and performed exceptionally. I think he has time to grow as a fighter and develop his style into something amazing.

I dig his "Mayogra" sassy attitude; it's borderline ****y, but in this game ya gotta have that.

        I think he'll do good in '09

Was Lara the Cuban that fought in the first fight because that guy looked very good.

Yeah. The dude has no power, but he throws with mean intentions.

I used to think Gamboa was the 'next big thing', his fights have slowly convinced me he will probably be 'Khan'd' before his 20th fight however

do you guys think Khan is being written off to soon? Maybe he should have a chance to redeem himself.

Gamboa is young and he is susceptible to being punched in the face and going down. From the looks at it, he still has that amateur mentality. Smother, smother smother. His defense isn't as solid as his physique or hand speed, but i'm sure he'll mature into a good fighter soon enough.

The Big boys really didn't impress me that much. Solis is a heavy hitter i guess. Not that much of a puncher.

And i don't even know who Lara is.

Gamboa's chin is obviously not weak. His balance might suck, but my god, he has taken bomb after bomb, gone down, and then got back up, not hurt at all.

He looks like Casamayor who doesn't dance as much, and throws 4X as many punches. He stands and throws in the same way I guess...

                    Anyway, I'm very excited.
