I don't mind in fatc I enjoy it, but i'm military so banter is a way for life for me and the harsher the better.

As i direct result of him and Daggum plus other unnamed posters it impossible to have a reasoned discussion about Calzaghe, and I think he likes it that way so people are scared to pick holes in his poorer arguements.

Also i get annoyd by the bum arguement, there are at least 10 out of the 21 defences by Calzaghe that would be considered reasonable on anyone elses resume, you can't call a guy who won and held on title and then won another later a bum, sorry you just cannot.

Rahman isn't anything special buy sny means but he's not a bum.
With all due respect....I've given Calzaghe props before.

And the Calzaghe fanboy brigade has been out of control on here for years. I make TWO threads in two days and suddenly Joe's fans are ****ing crying all over the place.

I mean the amount of trolling that guys like Ricky and Hunter have pulled off for a long time is insane- it's hilarious that any criticism of Joe makes his fans freak out.

Who keeps making these dumb threads? What do you want fans to do, bow at the throne of Calzaghe? The man is considered one of the best in the world and has earned a ticket to the HOF. What the **** else do you want us to say? That he's God incarnate?

Didn't say you wasn't justified Bz, but you really do come accross as Mr angry even at the mildest of defences of his resume, say someone says "Robin Reid wasn't a bum"

Next he gets you going ape**** at him for paragraphs about "you're ******ed and Calzaghe only ever fought bums and you should stop sucking his ****."

For some people it's bit much.

I'm white and I don't respect Joe Calzaghe. The guy spent his whole career fighting bums and I use that in a nice way because they were lower than bums. Then the guy wants great respect for fighting two fighter way past their primes. Well, it doesnt work like that Joesph. You have to EARN respect, its not just given and earn you did not. I also hate his arrogance of him thinking he is just a bad mother f'er, when most of his fights are as boring as any I can remember. Exciting fights do not come by volume of punches, they are by punches with meaning, punches that are crisp and hurt your opponent. Then he disses boxing???? Saying its dying because he isn't getting the love of some great fighters. Hell, Naseem got more praise and love than this ***. Hello Joe! If you fights bums people see through that. Ricky Hatton is more respected than you! *******s may succeed in boxing but *******s that don't take on the best and entertain will always fail. LOL and you guys think people don't like him because its race.
How can you still say that he made a career out of fighting people lower than bums? Did you actually read my original post? I'm not saying Joe is one of the best fighters of all time, I'm simply saying he's had a great career and needs more respect for what he's achieved. If Roy Jones and Hopkins had fought him 8 or 9 years ago this would have been a different story. I think the Hopkins fight would have turned out the same way, but I think Roy Jones would have had too much for him. People wouldn't have been calling him a coward then. The same goes for Robin Reid, shame the guy wouldn't give Joe a unification fight when he was WBC champ.

I always feel a bit sorry for Joe when I read some of these posts, because the guy has spent his entire career trying to get his name recognised and he's never had the respect of some of the other great fighters of his generation.

Surely Ring Magazine wouldn't rate him as the 3rd best fighter on the planet if all the criticism was true?

And as for the fact that he beat "two fighters way past their primes" ? Firstly, Hopkins is rated #4 on the Ring P4P list and I think Kelly Pavlik would agree with me here, the guy is still a superb fighter, extremely tricky to catch cleanly and knows his trade inside-out. And if you'd read the original post closely, you'd have noticed me stating that fighting Roy Jones Jr did not earn him any more respect, it was simply a money-maker.

Another point worth mentioning as well concerns Calzaghe's punch power. When will critics of Calzaghe stop pointing out he 'slaps' and his punches are 'pitter pats'. He damaged his wrist in the amateurs, and to this day he cannot do press ups on the palm of his hands. Despite this, he knocked out 20 of his first 22 opponents and to this day maintains a 70% knockout ratio. Not bad considering he's broken his hand on numerous occasions. He seems to hit a lot harder P4P than Malignaggi did in his recent fight against Hatton, even though they've both had similar problems. They were what you'd call 'pitter pats'

Lol, before the Lacy fight, he injured his hands and people were criticising him then for ducking out of the biggest fight of his life. Sheesh, I wonder if Lacy agrees that his punches are 'pitter pats'.

I could care less if he's from really.

I give him his due as a fighter and beating 2 legends in one year (though they weren't the best fighters when he eventually fought them). But I don't agree with him being the best fighter.

The 2 wins he'll be heralded for are the wins against Roy & Bernard (if he decides to retire) which isn't much considering legends like Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, etc had countless memorable fights with top notch opponents which Joe is criticized heavily about not having in his career pre 2006.

But hey, what can you do...

lol. Bad example since I don't think Robin Reid was a bum and he happened to give him life and death.

yeah i can understand it being much for some people, but look around. I see maybe 5 percent of Joe fans even being reasonable and not complete trolling *******s.

Again 2 threads I wrote vs. 3 + years of trolling by tons of alts and spammers.....

So the entire crux of your argument is "IF" he had fought them? It's always IF with Joe Calzaghe isn't it? That's the major problem...
