    These are his mega fights.

Mayweather-Hatton. I think around 80 percent were pro Hatton and traveled half way around the world to see Hatton.

Mayweather-De La Hoya. Larry Merchant "About 90 percent of the crowd is pro de la hoya"

Judah-Mayweather. Good crowd this could be the fight where he was the draw or the combination of a great undercard it had.

Mayweather-Gatti. 12k plus sold out at the Boardwalk Hall. Gatti's popularity and fight style in that area generated the live attendence. Mayweather fought Demarcus Corley in the same arena and didnt bring in half of what the gatti fight did.

If Mayweather fought Pacquiao, Margarito, or Hatton, or even Cotto. Wouldnt it be safe to say Mayweather is NOT the draw in these fights because we all know just about everyone in that crowd will be Filipino, Mexican, British, or Puerto Rican

Mayweather in my opinion is still a big draw... because a lot of people pay to watch because they want him to lose. As for the attendance... a lot of people also show up to watch him lose because of how he trash talks his opponents, making the fans of his opponents fired up wanting to watch him beat Floyd... if that makes any sense?

This is how he hypes up his fights... making them all massive events, he does his bit just as much as the other fighter does... by playing the role as "the bad guy".

Also how much did the Mayweather vs Baldomir ppv do in terms of ppv numbers? Did it hit 900,000 ppv buys? I think it was close to this figure? Can someone confirm how much it did please.

It did over 300k 310 maybe? It still made a considerable ammount of money 310,000*55=17 million and change. Floyd made like 8 million for this fight and Baldomir could not have made more then 2.

I think Mayweather-Baldomir did about 400k. Not sure. Whatever it was, they were solid numbers - not great, but pretty good for a one-sided match-up that was initially met with groans.

There was a time when Floyd Mayweather couldn't fill up half of an arena in his hometown. That was true right up to and including his bout against Bruseles. But then two things happened. One, Floyd was the obvious and perfect opponent for Arturo Gatti, a TV legend who always packed Boardwalk Hall. Neither had headlined a PPV before.

Two, Floyd transformed from a wannabe Black De la Hoya to a fighter who was sick of being portrayed as a bad guy and had decided to embrace the role. That turned him into a TV attraction. And those who tuned in to see him beat Gatti senseless withnessed an ass-whipping worth talking about for a bit.

That's where it began. 24/7 and the Oscar match turned him from star to superstar.
