Still needs more polish, but he was in the ring with a guy who wasn't really afraid of his power. He just needs more experience with guys who make him go the distance.

I hear a bunch of buzz and hype about this Gamboa guy and when i watch him fight im not impressed.. ive seen about 6 of his fights and he probably isnt gonna be that good of a fighter.. his defense sucks and his arrogance will get him in further trouble.. i dont see him doing too well against ELITE fighters

He reminds me of Tito in his early stages... Coming back from KD's to come back and win.

Stay tuned... This man is learning and he will be a force.
I agree! I also think Gamboa is here to stay and will do big things in the near future.

Gamboas combination of skill, speed and power brings boxing to a new level! But as good as his offensive skills are, as bad are his defense. Well he has great reflexes and moves well, but what is so difficult about keeping your hands up? Solis was not as impressive as Gamboa but he has a better defense and keeps his hands up. Solis needs lose weight!! Hes verry talented and skilled too but his high weight is the only reason he could not be a Top fighter. I was impressed about Lara but its to early to tell how good he really is.

Somewhat disappointing season opening. Thought Gamboa, though impressive at times, would have looked much better-- and the kd trend has to be addressed. After he destroyed Seeger (no slouch- but he took such a big fight much too too late), I thought Gamboa might be the real deal and live up to the hype. Now, I'd have to say the jury is still out. If only Speedy had some additional offense to offer, it might have been interesting. The late stoppage was a joke. The heavyweight fight was a bit more entertaining, but the Cuban didn't strike me as being very awe-inspiring either--- man can that division get any more tedious?

If this kid doesn't realise very soon that now he's fighting in the pros and doesn't wear headgear he will soon be probably the biggest waste of boxing talent there ever was. He has it all but he can't get into brawls like that because if he does he gives up all the advantages he has. He has to grow up mentally

Whatever happens, it's gonna be hugely entertaining. I love how he fights. One of the most exciting fighters in the world. And a supreme stylist.
