To all the Pros...

Oh, i'm fully aware of all that. I wouldn't quit my day job and just live off fighting. Just to be a part of something that 90% of people will probably never experience. I'm not talking career, just a little here and there. But then again, i'm not all these palookas who thinks just cus they can box they can turn pro. I'm a realist obviously. But it's not like i'm totally new to the world of professional fighting.my friend this is the dirtiest business in the world. 90% of all pros dont make enough to live off of boxing alone add in managers and promoters and lawers and taxes the fighter is not left with much. and this is the killing sport meaning that odds are good that you will take away from this game very little money and some kind of physical disabillity from the all of the punishment. very few fighters have the kind of success of the big names. i think something like 5% of all the pro boxers worldwide made 90% of the money. and after your carrer is over you are forgotten and no one will be there to help (penison-aid-asstence) the story is well documented and will always be the case
i got sick leave and insurance. I'm totally covered. If and when my career is over, it don't matter if people remember me or not. The importance is i know who the fcuk i am.
i live by a diferent code than most. *****...there's something about the boxing world that intrigues me. Could it be the money? The glory the fame? The bitches?
I'm a fighter not a lover.
Wussup? Lace me up!! I want to learn more about the business.Comment

You guys are missing the point. Getting paid to fight. Who wouldn't want to do that? Getting all the energy and aggressiveness out on an opponent.
It's the same concept as the boys who enlist in the Army. They don't get paid that much, but they're still soliders.
You guys don't feel me?
Who wouldn't want $500...tell me. $1,000 is fcukin nut nice. Think about it. You got your day job and your part time gig as a pro. Sheesh!! That's what i'm talking about.
But then again, i don't have a family or some chick tryin to restrict my possibilities. No offense to those who do, i'm just not into that stuff.Comment

300K *****....tell me someone who'd turn that down.
What i've figured out is the amateurs is to groom those who can make a name for themselves in the professional ranks. Obviously if you get on teams, or win tournaments, Olypmics you'll get more exposure.
There were hella boxers out there with a little amateur experience and still made a stand in this crooked business.Comment

I see what you're saying. And yeah, it would've been cool to have a few pro fights. But I had (and still have) other priorities in life. Boxing has, and always will be a big part of my life, but nothing is more important to me than my family. You guys are missing the point. Getting paid to fight. Who wouldn't want to do that? Getting all the energy and aggressiveness out on an opponent.

I got my work, my kids, my house to work on, etc....and still hit the gym for a good workout and sparring twice a week. When I competed, I did it full steam and was at the gym 5-6 days per week. So if I ever went pro, I'd have the same mindset and not go into it half-assed. That just wouldn't work out for me right now though.
It sounds like you're single, if I was in your shoes...why not go for it?!?!? It'd be a different story.
