    To all the Pros...

Aiite, let's talk some numbers. I would like to go pro one day....that's my dream since i was kid. But i gotta learn about the business.

Okay...so for the pros. How much do you guys clear per fight?

Start with the low levels first and then work up. I've talked with some pros and they say something like $500-$700 per fight. Does that sound right?

*****, i wouldn't mind getting $500 just to sc**** off on somebody.

What do you pros think. Lace me up, talk about the business. Promotions, productions, trainers, managers, weigh ins, lodgings, meal tickets, training, side jobs, shady deals, set ups, yadda yadda yadda...

I'm just a mere amateur boxer, but i'm trying to learn about the business.

I never went pro, but had plenty of offers back when I was about 20. I got offers ranging from $500-$1000 for my first fight. I have some friends that went pro and got that for their first few fights. It goes up from there obviously, especially if you keep winning and putting on good performances.

I actually got my latest offer to go pro last year, for $1200. I just don't have the time to hit the gym as much as I would need to though to compete pro or amateur anymore. I make it about twice a week now, and that's about all there's time for.

You don't have the desire to get some extra cash scrapin someone?

That'd be dope just to get $500 for fighting.

I'm trying to persue my dream of fighting pro....just to get paid ya know?

my friend this is the dirtiest business in the world. 90% of all pros dont make enough to live off of boxing alone add in managers and promoters and lawers and taxes the fighter is not left with much. and this is the killing sport meaning that odds are good that you will take away from this game very little money and some kind of physical disabillity from the all of the punishment. very few fighters have the kind of success of the big names. i think something like 5% of all the pro boxers worldwide made 90% of the money. and after your carrer is over you are forgotten and no one will be there to help (penison-aid-asstence) the story is well documented and will always be the case

a lad i know went pro and got 10,000 for a 10 fight contract. so averaging out 1000 a fight. but it could have been 500 or so for first fight and 1500 for a latter one or something.

take away fees for all the stuff named above and its not all that much

Desire has nothing to do with it. I competed at the amateur level for ten years. I've been a fan/practitioner of the sport my entire life.

I have a full-time job, a family, etc. Getting to the gym twice a week is fine with me at this stage of my life. Back when I was 20, I had just gotten out of college, starting a full-time job, and being a father of a newborn daughter.

If you got the time to dedicate yourself to the proper training, go for it!
