What exactly would make Diaz a boxing star?
He has headlined 3 different HBO shows.
At one time he held 3 out of the 4 lightweight belts
Before Campbell beat him, there was a debate over whether he or Casamayor ran the 135 division.
He has some great names like Freitas & Julio Diaz on his ledger (my scale goes Elite-Great-Good-Solid)
He has Good names like Sim, Lorcy, Cotto, Katsidis
and a host of solid names.
Guy is a solid top 30 P4P meaning in a sport with 1000's of combatants he is one of the top 30.

I mean he isnt Pacquiao, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Hatton and a few others when it comes to being a money draw, but who the hell is?

you're defending him like he's your brother, relax yourself and get real. he's a very good fighter, respectable in every sense, well educated, the list goes on. the man is NOT a boxing star.

Do you know what star means?

If Diaz beats Marquez i think Pac would be forced to fight him.

He also might be the only fighter in the sport that doesn't have a definitive flaw in his game.
              Umm Morales anyone

I'm gonna like this fight. Both are good fighters. JMM has skills; JD has brawn, this is gonna be a close decision. I'm predicting an all-out Mexican War with lots of bruises and possibly some bloody faces. WAR MEXICO... JAT

with all the rumors of Erik "El Terrible" Morales comin back to fight, I think they should of tried to get Morales vs Diaz first just to see if Diaz is ready for a fight in JMM's level, no disrespect to Diaz but I think it's too soon for him to be fighting JMM. This is the order that I think should have led to a Diaz-JMM fight...

                  Katsidis,which he already beat...then:
                  Casamayor (Dec 08)
                  Nate Campbell (Feb 09)
                  Marco Antonio Barrera (May 09)
                  Erik Morales (Sep 09)
                  JMM (Dec 09)

Morales-Diaz at this point would be a shame. Morales is one of my all time favs and he would get hurt at this point in his career

If Diaz beats JMM then a rematch with Campbell is almost certainly going to get made.
