of course hes not thinking about boxing, bernard hopkins is still an active fighter and we all know he doesnt want no parts of bhop. calzaghe is a good fighter but its annoying when HBO calls him a HOF, he hasnt done nothing to deserve that title, they will call any fighter great just to get the public behind him and sell tickets.

most people saying hes a legend didnt even know he existed 2 years ago. and he has to do more than to barely beat an old hopkins and whoop a boxer in jones who hasnt been the same since the magic man whooped his ass. he needs to fight hopkins again,theres no question, bhop beat pavlik,a guy that everybody knows calzaghe was avoiding. if he beats chad dawson,the public will not give him credit by saying dawson is inexperienced and too young,etc. they always got some sort of excuse to make when a fighter they thought was great is gettin demolished.

so if he retires, hes only a legend where hes from, hes hasnt done nothing whatsoever to be even in the same breath as a bernard hopkins,floyd mayweather,manny pacquiao. there may have good fighters over there,but the best fighters of all time proved themselves in the US, look at ricky hatton 39-0 in the UK,comes to the US gets knocked out.calzaghe comes to the US and fights bhop,he was suppose to crush him, he had the speed, hes younger,he had something to prove the US public,and he barely beat him.

Joe has given us so many great fights.

He's almost 37, and past his prime. His recurrent hand injury prevented him from finishing off Jones in the late rounds of his last fight (he says he hurt his hand in the 8th round and couldn't punch hard after that, but by that time the damage had already been done to Jones).

I hope he enjoys his retirement. He deserves the best!
