Well, if Pac did not move up, JMM would still stay at 130. It took 4 years for the remacth cuz JMM turn it down. So JMM has to wait if there is a trilogy.

Which Marquez will NEVER do, their aint no money in a Chris John fight and that loss was even a UD for John. Pac has been a top name since his days at 122 moving on up and by Marquez fighting with Pac this would obviously push him up and earn him the big bucks. I think people give Marquez WAY TOO MUCH credit. He lost to Chris John beat old Casamayor and Barrera, drew and lost to Pac and now he's number 2 P4P on some peoples list. He's a good fighter dont get me wrong but gets WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT.

The Sky is blue, water is wet, and the same could be said about Hagler, Hearns, Suger Ray, and Duran.

If one of them never fought a day in their life that group just wouldn't be as special.

What would Joe Louis of been without Schmeling?

What would Frasier have been without Ali? What would Ali be without Forman?

Seriously we could play this game all day and all night.

If I am not mistaken, JMM was going to rematch Chris John but John wanted it at featherweight and JMM didn't wanna go down (Can't really blame him)... Like asking Pacquaio to go down to LW for JMM

And yes JMM is for money, but he makes that money taking on dangerous guys like Pacquaio, Casamayor, and J. Diaz

          Whats ur point???

I dont get how people dont understand this concept. If Pac NEVER MOVED TO 135 TO FIGHT DIAZ, WOULD MARQUEZ OF MOVED UP AND FOUGHT JOEL. NOPE......

Marquez needs Pacquiao as bad as a crack addict needs his crack.

That's just the economy man. A lot of fights that would normally be PPV are on regular HBO or Showtime this year. Not compaining either, that's a good thing for boxing!

I'm sure Marquez would put a whooping on John if they ever fought again...here in the States. I doubt John will move up from 126 to 135 though to make it happen. Marquez has plenty of options to fight at 135 and establish his legacy while he waits for Pacquiao (if it ever happens): Diaz, Campbell, Guzman, etc.

And remember that when talk of a Pac-Casa fight, Jose is shot but against JMM, even though past his prime but still considers fresh by the media, Casa is not.

Marquez is telling it like it is. Let's be real, if Manny would have lost in the rematch he would've been chasing Marquez for a trilogy as well or are any of you gonna say that Manny would've taken the loss and not try to avenge it??

Other then that he fought Casamayor who was old anyways. Lets not forget the fight with Barrera which Marco dropped Marquez but never got credit for it. This was the same Barrera who's been in wars with Pac and Morales so really does Marquez get full credit for this win?

Why else is Marquez campaigning at 135, he was chasing Pac. Would Marquez be at 135 if Pac never went to 135, probably not.

Dont get me wrong now cause I know their are alot of Marquez fans here and I aint trying to discredit his skills cause YES he is a good boxer, but without Pacquiao where would he be? SERIOUSLY
A prime Pac and 3 X lightweight champ Juan Diaz are alot tougher opponents than a shot Morales or a faded Barrera. And Casamayor even at this stage in his career is still tougher than David punching bag Diaz who was the weakest champ in the division. I dont see how anyone can hate on JMM for seeking vindication after that controversial decision by moving up to face the younger #1p4p fighter.

I see what you're saying. But a lot of people bring up Marquez's wins against "old" Barrera and Casamayor, without mentioning the fact that JMM is up there in years too. In fact, isn't he older than Barrera? And only a year younger than Casamayor???
