Why Margarito is bad for Mayweather!

Floyd is a great defensive fighter,no doubt. But that potshot right hand and shoulder role, probably isnt going to cut it against Margarito. He has a 100+plus punch output. He also punches from all angles, anticipating that many punches, seems impossible.Cotto, couldnt hold Margarito off,33 punches a round from featherfisted Mayweather wont do it.Margarito would walk him down and stop him late!!

Margarito could throw 100 ppr, and Floyd could throw 33. Floyd would still land more.

See this is were anything is possible. I also thought about this, and I think Floyd would be less effective trying to shoulder roll a big man like Margarito. It may have worked on Baldomir, but Margarito is much bigger and he applies so much pressure. On the other hand Floyd could box that whole fight and outclass Margarito, considering how Cotto was easily able to hit Margarito. If coarse he sacrificed fighting Margarito at times and moving. But I believe Floyd would keep a guy like Margarito in the middle of the ring and dictate the fight, instead of getting caught on the ropes.

So I think Floyd would UD Margarito. But again anything is possible, and Margarito would be the most intense opponent Floyd has ever faced.

Marg-Mayweather is a repeat of Baldomir-Mayweather to me.

Agreed. Floyd is too fast for Margarito. Tony was being outboxed by Cotto who doesn't even box. Floyd's fast hands and feet as well as energy conserving style would lead easily to a 12 round decision.

Margarito is bad for anyone, and if you think Margo is Baldomir you need to think again.

first off floyd is not nearly a strong enough puncher, or a strong enough man to keep tony off him for 12 rds. second he will have a hard time with the work rate. floyd like to fight in spurts, take a little break, etc....,and toney will hinder that as well. i see alot of running from floyd, and that's about it. no matter though, it is never happening.

The difference in foot speed makes this non competitive at best, Floyd wins on all cards by a large margin.

it is just not an attractive win for Mayweather. He would be backpeddling for the majority of the fight not even trying to hurt Margo. It would actually hurt his marketability.
