Gomez has way more title fights than Haye at Cruiser and probably has a better shot at beating Vitali than him. It won't be as exciting a fight, but Gomez paid his dues and deserves this one so he should get his shots. I agree on the last part though, Sulaiman is big part of the plague of boxing.
