To good a guy and a hell of a fighter.

One thing about him is he knocked out some guy, then he had taken pictures next to the guy while he was down. It was actually very funny, but a little messed up.

Great fighter and warrior. I just didnt like the way he acted like a sore loser and slapped the water bottle ( i think that's what it was) out of Barrera's hand when Barrera when to shake his hand after the fight.

Ah yes, I remember those pictures.

I guess the most solid argument why anyone wouldn't like him would be his lack of defense. Personally for me though, I don't weigh that too much, as it tends to make fights more exciting and you can see how much heart fighters like him have.

I've come to the conclusion: Erik Morales was a terrific thing for boxing, his ATG status is sealed, and (I'm suprised by the lack of Pinoys in this thread) he is virtually unhatable (is that a word??)

that's debatable, and he arguably won the second fight. The funny thing is even though he lost 2 of 3 against Barrera, it did nothing to hurt his reputation, it actually made it better.

Ever notice how the fighters, you know, the toughest sons of bitches in this sport, don't make a big deal out of it? But it's the fans, the spectators, who act like it counts against their manhood because they got beat up bad at the end of their careers and had enough.

People who question the balls of Julio Cesar Chavez, Erik Morales, Miguel Cotto or Israel Vasquez would never get in the ring with them, even with a 60 pound weight advantage. They're all tough SOBs who gave it everything they had until they didn't have any more to give.
