They are fighting 2 divisions apart right now, JMM also has bigger fights for bigger money to look forward to than a rematch with John, maybe it's also to stir up some interest in a John-Luevano fight or create more interest in a Juarez-Luevano fight, Juarez and Luevano were rivals in the amateurs, John-Luevano would probably be a pretty dull fight though.
Did you think the low blow deductions were legitimate? Most non hysterical posters seem to think the fight was fair. To Ryno, I didn't realize Badmitton was a big sport in Indonesia. I'm sure it's an awesome game!... As far as a Jmm/John 2. I agree they aren't setting it up but. If John blows Juarez out and JMM looks ordinary. People are gonna start talking up John.

The referee did warn JMM a few times in the fight for low blows I believe, but the punches that he did take points away for were borderline which makes it debatable on whether points should have been taken away.

Maybe it's also to build up John-Vazquez since Vazquez has been talking about moving up, I don't think John-JMM 2 will happen anytime soon.

I agree, It's just such a curious decision to put John on the same card as JMM when there was already a questionable history between the two pugs. Also, I really expect John to quickly get overrated if he beats Juarez in any decent fashion. His face being on HBO is gonna really catapult him.

I will usually support any fighter coming out of Houston, but I just cant stand Ploddy Juarez. I hope John dismantles him easily, and Ploddy has to turn to Barrios and give him a rematch.

That's probably what HBO wants anyways, they just want to get people talking about John so that they can put him on their airwaves again, him vs Vazquez would be an interesting fight, interesting styles matchup.

This will be one of the best free cards of the year. 2 close fights with elite level fighters. Juarez is near elite.
