I think Mayweather has done more for the sport, won 6 world titles in 5 weight classes remaining undefeated which nobody has done before, that is a source of inspiration to young fighters. Plus Mayweather trash talking his opponents and playing the "bad guy" has helped hype up and promote fights, giving us more main events. I am a fan of Calzaghe but I cannot say he has done more for the sport than Mayweather... However he has done wanders for boxing in Britain.

in the other hand mayweather was a hyped boxer that took lil risks and always disrespected his opponents he kept getting fatter so he had to move up in weight class when he finally gained the spotlight on boxing by defeating a shot de la hoya
he embarrased boxing by doing pro wrestling and **** then he finally retired never leaving his country or taking a minimun risk
LOL. Mayweather is no more "hyped" by his fanboys, than Calzaghe is by the likes of you. You can't call ODLH shot, and then praise Calzaghe for beating RJJ. You're just talking out your ass, trying to cause a stir up.

Won titles in three of those divisions over the likes of Gatti, Baldo and a very inactive past his prime De la Hoya.

For anyone to say YES of NO would have to live in both the U.K. and U.S. for at least the last 4 years. Mayweather is huge here, but also hugely hated. I kind of get the feeling that Calzaghe is the same for the U.K. Many U.K. fans adore him, but we've all seen that he has his fair share of critics in the U.K. as well.

Calzaghe has a pretty solid following in the U.S., so what I'd like to know is how much of a following Mayweather has in the U.K. Any Brits out there feel free to chime in.

Muhammad Ali did pro wrestling too... did Muhammad Ali embarass the sport?

                      Just curious.

And you wanna point the finger toward Mayweather for taking Low risks?

                      REALLY?

He gained the spotlight for defeating a shot de la hoya?

What exactly was 40 yr old Roy Jones?
