Infact, lets face it, if a dream match, fantasy match, or a catch weight match ever came off between the two Mayweather Jr. would clearly emerge victorious.
Absolutely right. It's amazing how Calzaghe always gets a pass for everything. Totally a double standard.

      When will some ppl understand?
If you can get a job where you will earn more doing less, wouldnt you?
Same thing for a boxer, if he can avoid a tough boxer and fight a less skilled one and still get decent paid, why wouldnt he?

But I am not surprsied, some ppl still pay for watching while others get a free stream over the net

      Who doesn't understand that?

Being higher paid doesn't necessarily qualify one as "the best".

If thats the case, DLH = GOAT.

Both of them have tremendous resumes. I think Calzaghe is just starting to begin his legacy as an all time great, never mind all of his defenses, I just think Floyd Jr. has been there and done that already in a sense.

i think it's ridiculous the amount of hate both of them recieve

even disregarding their obvious skills, their resumes are both at least respectable

Agree with that. I bash Calzaghe all the time so I haven't noticed.

Im just saying, I usually dont see too much Calzaghe bashing when Im on. But regardless of when I get on, I always manage to see numerous threads bashing Mayweather Jr. I think its like someone mentioned earlier, it has a lot to do with the way they carry themselves outside the ring. It is a very good point.

They are. I'm not a Floyd fan but his skills are undeniable. Both of them get too much bashing around here, but we are boxing nerds. The general public / casual fan doesn't nitpick so much. So, outside of places like this, it's not much of an issue, and we are a minority. We are like a bunch of stamp collectors or trainspotters arguing about minor details. It's all slightly ****, to be honest.

But as for the original point, Calzaghe doesn't get praised so much around here. He, along with Floyd, is definitely one of the most hated fighters, and that is what happens when you rise to the top. It is obviously not exclusive to boxing.

I've said it before and i'll say it again: Mayweather's super dope, but i'm not a fan. I don't drink Haterade.

I don't know too much about Calzaghe to actually be a fan. So i can't say that i am. As far as being a good fighter? I haven't followed his career enough to make that distinction. He's gotta be worth something though if he's made it this far.

One thing's for sure, i don't like Mayweather's or Calzaghe's personalities outside of the ring. And IMO, a great fighter has to be loved and appreciated inside and outside of the ring. Afterall, they're both warriors right? Well warriors have to live by a certain code, Bushido.
