Yes, definitely. Although I don't see Pacquiao getting too much hate, I must say. He is a good guy, it's hard to pick faults with him because his behavior in and out of the ring is hard to fault, but still, even he gets bashed occasionally. I noticed a few people talk trash about him simply because he defeated one of their favorite fighters.

There's seems to be no way of getting away from it. You'd have to be an absolute angel, but even then you'll still have a bunch of seething haters who will find a small fault somewhere and amplify it.

I don't know too much about Calzaghe to actually be a fan. So i can't say that i am. As far as being a good fighter? I haven't followed his career enough to make that distinction. He's gotta be worth something though if he's made it this far.

One thing's for sure, i don't like Mayweather's or Calzaghe's personalities outside of the ring. And IMO, a great fighter has to be loved and appreciated inside and outside of the ring. Afterall, they're both warriors right? Well warriors have to live by a certain code, Bushido.
I agree with you. But like I said in my previous post, even Pacquiao gets his fair share of haters. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about him, though.

As for Calzaghe, I feel a lot of the hate he gets is from people who haven't followed his career. It is hate born of ignorance, as he is often judged by only a couple of fights that people have seen. I'm not asking for anyone to like him, but I do wish people wouldn't post such garbage. They should stick to facts when they argue.

And Mayweather? I cannot like his personality, his actions outside the ring are shameful at times. If you are from a poor background or having a hard time financially, it's not easy to watch some loudmouth rubbing his wealth in your face and claiming to be the best thing since sliced bread. It's insulting and it doesn't make me admire him as a person because I don't respect money and greed. When his young, impressionable fans grow up, have been through some hardship, lost someone or something close to them, possibly had to live on the streets, maybe they will also learn that ***elry and flash cars isn't everything. What's important is people and love. Money can't buy those things. However, he is a great fighter, and that deserves to be acknowledged.

It's very true: how you carry yourself outside the ring is important. People will remember you for this as much as they will for what you did inside the ring.

Infact, lets face it, if a dream match, fantasy match, or a catch weight match ever came off between the two Mayweather Jr. would clearly emerge victorious.
And threads like this just keep the ball rolling. There are very few unbiased posters when it comes to Mayweather or Calzaghe. This is a pro-Mayweather thread, and will probably find a newly posted pro-Calzaghe thread to match it. No one, not even Miss Cleo, can predict what would happen if these two fought. Out of every 21 people, 20 predicted Tyson would beat Douglas. I think at the end of the night, it would be the fans who felt the most defeated... worn ragged by the extreme lack of substance in the fight. Calzaghe throwing 100 arm punches a round with Floyd ducking most of them. Floyd would spend the first 6 round trying to decide if he wanted to throw a punch and maybe by the 7th round he would step up to throwing 15-20 a round.

Both are great fighters by the way.

As true as it all seems to be, even the haters, bashers, and ignorant ones should recognize and appreciate the all time greats. I mean they can say something like, I cant stand Floyds Great talented ass ducking Margarito all the time. Or, something like, Calzaghe's million slaps a round are effective to a point where hes on his way to all time great status. **** like that.

I think the thread starter has been living in a cave or something because in no way does Calzaghe get any praise, he gets ****ted on 24/7.

The point he might of been trying to make is that Mayweather is also crapped on as much,if not more than Calzaghe. Even in retirement Floyd gets hated on.

                  SHOCKING.
