Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Vanes a 154lber? If so, why hasn't he tried to win a title yet? Berto fights in a much, much, much, much, much better division and already took a title if it was a meaningless fight. Point is he's trying to make noise in a division that has 10x the talent 154 has. If Vanes has had 22 fights, why hasn't he tried to win a belt in that crap division? And don't tell me 22 fights is still green because it's not anymore. Mayweather fought for a title in his 18th or 19th fight, Berto did in his 20th or 21st and Taylor was fighting Hopkins, the #1 in the world, by what his 25th fight?

There is a reason for everything and not all fighters progress the same and not all fighters take the same route to a World Title.

Considering Vanes' backing is world renouned manager Shelly Finkel, and promoter TOP RANK, I think he is in good hands and will make noise this year.
