  • Darchinyan:I will punish Donaire in a rematch!

DARCHINYAN STILL FUMING, WANTS DONAIRE BADLY

DESPITE regaining his lofty status, undisputed super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan still cannot get over his knockout loss to world flyweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr.

Interviewed by Secondsout’s Paul Upham, Darchinyan gave a mouthful to the culprit of his only loss in his illustrious 33-fight career.

“Donaire just got lucky that time,” claimed Darchinyan. “It happened. In his mind, he knows that he got lucky. I would love a rematch. When I have a rematch with him, if I lose any round you can give the fight to him. I say this because I know that every round I am going to punish him. The referee or his corner will stop the fight because I am not going to knock him out – I am going to punish him round after round!”

Donaire, the current IBF flyweight ruler won that belt with a smashing one-punch fifth round knockout of Darchinyan back in May 2007 in Connecticut.

“I want to fight him. I want the rematch. After my next fight, I am going to let the whole world know that I want a rematch and if he doesn’t fight me, everyone will know that he is chicken. He doesn’t want to fight me. Donaire is scared,” said Darchinyan.

The southpaw Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 KO’s) unified the WBC/WBA/IBF belts by stopping back then one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world Cristian Mijares of Mexico in the 9th round of their unification clash November of 2008 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

“Mijares thinks he is a great fighter and a smart fighter. I told him, I am going to be faster than you and smarter than you. I am going to destroy you. People were not believing what I was saying. I am happy that a 1st round knockout didn’t happen, because some people would have said it was a lucky punch. But I beat him round after round. I broke him down and I knocked him out,” said Darchinyan.

Also in Darchinyan’s radar is another Filipino, world bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa who is still at a loss as to his next schedule.

“The most important fight for me now is a world title match at bantamweight,” he said. “I have not seen much of WBO champion Gerry Peńalosa, but I would like to fight him. He has a big punch, but I know that I can punch harder than him. I can knock him out. It doesn’t matter for which world title belt. Any champion at bantamweight. I want to become world champion in three weight classes, hopefully undisputed in two of them.”

For now, Darchinyan is training hard for 29 year-old Arce 51-4-1 (39) to be held on February 7 at The Pond in Anaheim, California, USA and all other fights will have to wait.

“I am going to fight Jorge Arce now,” said Darchinyan. “He is rated No.1 contender in the WBC and has a WBA interim title. That will give me two mandatory defences at the same time. But I also want to go up in weight and fight for bantamweight world titles. When I lost, people said my career is going to be over and I am going to retire. C’mon guys? One loss has made me better. I am only more confident now.”

Vic is right, if there was a rematch he would beat Nonito. Vic has been fight top caliper fighters and been getting paydays and Donaire has been one of the most depressing fighters in all of boxing. One of the rare cases of the loser getting more chances than the winner.

learn about what's goin' on behind close doors about boxing before saying the most ******ed comment like "rare cases of the loser getting more chances than the winner".

but the truth is the Donaire is light years ahead of Darchinyan just like Paul Williams owns coward Margarito.

When you fight against Mexicans or a Mexican the odds of making money is on your favor.

There are over 40 millions of them and everyone of them are boxing fans.

Donaire is gonna have his chance fighting another overrated bum Montiel.

Donaire is gonna expose that overrated and slow mexican bum.

              .
I dont give a f whats going on with Donaires promoting problem. It is a rare case, sorry it gets your panties in a bunch. Donaire hasn't done jack **** since the victory. While Vic is the top super featherweight with wins Mijares, Kirlov, and a draw with Gorres. Whatever makes you sleep good at night with bs excuses. Now Vic has another big fight with Arce all before we even see if Donaire can beat anyone good without getting a lucky KO. Truth hurts.

Oh yeah fighting Arce on showtime brings in more money than Montiel. So that also kills your idea of him being light years ahead because hes fighting a mexican.

Darchinyan would own Donaire in a rematch.. funny how Donaire has run his mouth so much while getting no opportunites since then, while Darchinyan has rebuilt his career.. funny isn't it.

super featherweight? hahahahahahahahahaha since when Vic fought @ 130.

The truth hurts when overrated bum like Mijares got beat by Darchinyan who is Donaire's left overs.

1 dimensional Darchinyan beat that overrated ass.

Imagine what would Donaire do to Mijares? Mijares would be lucky if he gets past 1 round hahahaha.
