MEXICO vs. PUERTO RICO boxers/fans Rivalry when did it all started???

    Just interested to know....

I guess both countries produce such excellent fighters and champions and since they have the same market in Vegas they usually end up on the opposing corners. That could be the reason but what fight started it all?

Was it because of Dela Hoya controversial loss to Felix Tito Trinidad???

If there were previous discussions here in NSB please post the link...

and if its ok who produced THE BEST ONE among all their champs??? for me its a toss between tito and JCC..

Long time ago in a galaxy far FAR away...

Dont know but Salvador Sanchez whooping Wilfredo Gomez happened much earlier than DLH vs Tito. So it didn't start with DLH and Tito.

First one I can remember is Gomez vs Zarate.

Here's a good article about it.

Skillwise I think Sanchez was the best but JCC ranks higher on pound for pound lists.

From PR, it's either Benitez or Gomez.

I'm sure different people have different fighters as being the best, it's best to make your own decision on this.

JCC and Benitez probably rank highest on pound for pound lists from Mexico and PR respectively though.

Its a toss up between JCC and Salvador Sanchez for Mexico.

Wildredo Gomez and Tito Trinidad for Puerto Rico.
