oscar i'll wait and see if he fights again......it could have just been bad training and weight management.
Barrera and Morales had 110 fights between them before fighting Pac. I think the age thing is relative. You can be shot at 25 or 35.

In the first Barrera fight there was that big controversy over the metal plate in Barrera's head which caused him not to be fully focused.
I feel the second Pac-Barrera fight was indicative how it would've went down had Barrera been in shape mentally for the first fight. Pac wins but not the tko which propelled him to fame.

Pac improved a lot since his first fight with Morales and Morales declined big time.

They are good wins, but I think we can agree, Morales and Barrera's best days were past at jr feather. That was their prime.

They were still very good but not their best.

But that's how boxing works. You capitalize and strike when the iron is hot and guys are fading. It's been done that way for ages.

It really pisses me off how a great fight like Pacquiao vs Mayweather is being frowned upon by some people, it seems that Pacfans have all their excuses lined up over a slight weight advantage Floyd may have, while they neglect the fact that Floyd will be coming off a 2 year layoff. IF this fight comes off, WHOEVER WINS IS THE BETTER FIGHTER, NO EXCUSES

Do you actually believe that Floyd's retirement was legit and that he's been lounging around since then and is currently pudgy and out of shape??

i think floyd hurt his hand.

only reason he would leave millions on the table.

Nah, people were saying Barrera was washed up before the first Morales fight.
Remember that big controversy with Barrera before the first Pac fight . They almost didn't fight because of that metal plate in his head. I think the first fight all that **** took a lot out of him.
He lost, but Barrera's prime was when he was fighting Morales and before.

I think Pac would win against a healthy Barrera. It just woulda been a lot closer with a prime Barrera.

dif 1 year 11 mo 15 days, but we get your point.

The main difference is, Oscar peaked at 25 when he was #1 p4p, while Lewis peaked in his early to mid 30's. Lennox was a lot closer to prime that Oscar was, though both were past.
i agree. just throwing it out there cause he makes it seem like pac is fighting 40 yr. olds or something.

fact is you fight the biggest name , most money , top fighters no matter how old they are.

if vitali had won (which he probably would have without the eye damage) would it take away from vitali's win?

no. lennox was the man at heavy at the time. hell the exciting , close fight got vitali tons of fans even though he lost.

the metal plate had been in barrera's head for years before that fight.

don't forget to add the forest fires in big bear excuse too.

people thought barrera was done because of junior jones.

trust me barrera was close to prime in 2003. he had just whooped hamed for christ sakes.

I can't believe you think that the Barrera who fought Morales was the same guy who fought Pac.
Yes, the metal plate was in his head before, but the press and commissions found out about it before the Pac fight causing Barrera undue stress.

No matter how in shape he stays, past professionials will tell you inactivity kills, especially if you come back after 2 years and step in the ring with a monster like Pacquiao. I truly believe this could be a classic and i hope the winner gets the credit they deserve whether it be Pacquiao or Mayweather

Its rare to see two ATG's fight while in or close to their primes, not many can say they beat the "other " P4P #1 in their era
