Mike Tyson held a lot and settled after 5 when he couldn't take you out.

Judah and Hatton were the reasons those fights were entertaining. Gatti, Castillo, Corrales, Jesus Chavez and Augustus were entertaining fighters as well...pair Mayweather with somebody as boring as Baldomir and you have yourself a stinker, credit Toprank's Bruce Trampler for choosing his opponents well.

I'd agree with you to some extent. Again, at 147 he has been less exciting, but I think at the lower weight classes he created the excitment. Like Emmaunel Stewart points out, his opponents do bring the best out of Mayweather, if they don't step up their game and skill, Mayweather easily dominates them with his, and he does not have to be very exciting to do win.

As mayweather approached 30 and lost some of that amazing speed and athleticism, he became much more cautious, and I honestly believe he started loosing love for the sport, especially since people could not appreciate and instead overlooked his accomplishments in lower weight classes and his greatness as a fighter.

He also realized that at 147 he was in there with bigger punchers, and if he wanted to protect his physical condition and fight for a couple more years, he should not get into nasty exchanges. Thus we began to see Mayweather throw less combinations and instead catch his opponents with leads and hooks. This was also due to his constant hand injuries.

Doesn't really matter, there are few people at the skill level of Floyd Mayweather, I enjoy watching him, but even I have to admit that the Baldomir and Oscar fights were disgraceful. Good observation Badboypeenoy.

Juan Manuel Marquez started out as a boring fighter in the lower weights, got older (waaay past 30) moved up in weight, took on the best competition at the same time upping his performance level and in doing so got people to appreciate his talent more. Going up in weight and getting older aren't legit reasons to transform yourself into a bore.

Roy played around on the ropes way too much. Also couldn't / too afraid to let his hands go in big fights.
