chavez quits, de la hoya quits, peter quits. cotto got up and if his corner wouldnt thrown the towel he would of keep fighting. diego corrales spit out his mouth piece a couple times so he could get a breather

in reality you only pay a very little part of their salary. you think 40 dollars that you pay for the ppv is gonna affect him. if you dont pay someone else will pay it.
do you go to work because you like your job or do you go to work because you need money???

these "fans" that he supposedly lost when he "quit" where never fans.
in reality, they where just looking for an excuse to hate him even more.
          either way it doesn't matter.

That night he found out his limit.

Shame because all he needed to run was run out the clock and 1 more round I believe.

Cotto was showing promise but the accumulative shots he took made him vunerable towards the end and If the towel wasn't thrown I'm sure a TKO was on its way.

You're right, it doesn't matter that he quit. What matters is he proved he isn't a good boxer and is athletically inferior. No truly elite fighter would ever lose to a slow stiff like Baldomir Jr, oops I mean Margarito. Just goes to show how ludicrous it was for everyone to think Cotto had a chance to beat Floyd. He ain't on Floyd's level.

Exactly. They did everything except climb in the ring and pull Cotto out. I think that Cotto would have kept going, even knowing that he would have likely been stopped in a matter of a few more seconds.

To the idiots that say Cotto quit, would you consider Rafael Marquez a quitter? He actually did quit, while Cotto was stopped by his corner.

cotto clearly shook his head no to his corner like he didnt want no more but i dont blame him he was tired and hurt and could have been seriously hurt.he fought the wrong fight against marg.

fortunatly for him he wont have to fight him again because mosley will beat marg and setup a rematch with cotto.
