My whole comment was that he needs to win the fight in the rematch, but without him running even more than he did in the 1st fight...i don,t think the judges will appreciate cotto running and not fighting...theres no way cotto can hurt margarito backing up...if he wants to put the pain on this guy then he better go forward and swing away...
He needs to box more, not fight more. He needs to learn how to clinch and use more angles and not lie on the ropes and fight. If he does it your way, he gets knocked out quicker next time.
The more he swings away the quicker he will tire, just like their first fight, and the quicker he will lose. Margarito is not the type of fighter you try to out-fight or beat by hurting him more. You beat him by speed and boxing. Cotto needs to swing less, put less power on his punches and more speed. He needs to just touch him with all his punches and keep his stamina for the second half of the fight, and use angles, turn him, keep him trying to get set so he's off balance and can't throw. He needs to keep off the ropes most of all though.Last edited by BennyST; 01-02-2009, 11:39 PM.Comment

Like I said, this happens to a lot of fighters once they lose. But whether or not Cotto quit doesn't matter to me much, because he did it so he could fight Margarito again. He's no coward.Comment
