Margs has a huge mental edge because of that (ask any boxer).

There's no doubt Cotto could conceivably turn the tables, but after that he's working from a huge deficit he has to overcome so he is going to have to dial in to a certain mindset (not going down, not feeling the pain)

Can he achieve it? Maybe.. but historically, this doesn't happen that much and when it does, it's an anomaly.
I think in this case too much is being made of this. Cotto looked like he was ready to pass the fuuck out and had showed a great amount of courage and heart up to that point. At that point what would you have wanted him or any other fighter to do? Its very comparable to the way Vazquez went out but you dont see no one calling Vazquez out for "quitting"? I think Cotto will be smart enought to make some adjustments in the rematch and win a tough fight probably by decision.

Probably, but in truth I am a bigger Cotto fan than Clottey. But I do believe Cotto can beat Margarito, I just have some doubts whether or not he can make the right adjustments. But I will always support the guy.

The difference is, Vasquez rocked Marquez world, which gave him hope, Cotto didn't faze Margs.

In the mental battle Margs wins, even though Cotto is the better boxer.
Being the better boxer sometimes doesn't matter.

I don't want to say Cotto quit per se, like it's some machismo thing, but he did lose by tko, and it takes a mindset to overcome that.

I dont think it's a horrible weight to be at after a long layoff/vacation. Besides, I'm sure most of these guys walk around at that. Other than maybe Berto.

Cotto should also know more ring generalship. Control the pace, break up his opponent's rhythm using tricks...not dirty but more smarter in the trenches...he could throw combos and clinch, he needs to learn how to smother punches...
