His conditioning was good, it could be better probably, but a broken nose in round 2 doesn't help anyone. He can definitely work on clinching more. I can't wait to see how he looks against Jennings. I want to get tickets to that show!

I remember seeing a picture of him right when he got back into his training camp and he did look at a little fat! hahah 170 on Cotto that's pretty ridiculous, but like he said there shouldn't be a problem cutting down to 147. I would guess that's a little more than he usually gets to, but he's been off for a while now. I don't see an issue with it.

Good post, I love hearing updates about Cotto. Please be sure to post anymore that you find.

Watch out for uppercuts and stay off the ropes - then it's game over for Marg !

Good to hear it. I like Tony and all, but I gotta back my man Cotto in this rematch. The only way he is gonna win the rematch is to do a couple of things differently, cause we know Margarito is generally going to be the same product. Working on conditioning, strength and proper hip and leg movement technique sounds like a good idea to me.
He should kill this Jennings character without too much trouble, hope the Margarito rematch is as exciting as the first.

170 is a foolish weight to let yourself get to in-between camps I realize he was probably in a bit of a depression and probably drank and ate a little more to trying to forget that experience but a guy like Cotto dont need to going Ricky Fatton at this stage in his career.

When someone quits in fight one, I just don't see how fight 2 is going to be different.

People were on here saying Cintron would give Margs more of a battle in fight 2 and look what happened.

Margs has a huge mental edge because of that (ask any boxer).

There's no doubt Cotto could conceivably turn the tables, but after that he's working from a huge deficit he has to overcome so he is going to have to dial in to a certain mindset (not going down, not feeling the pain)

Can he achieve it? Maybe.. but historically, this doesn't happen that much and when it does, it's an anomaly.

He was 170 before the Gomez fight.

Cotto should also use lateral movement, and just make Margarito go in circles while busting him in the face with that powerful jab he's got. Also switch from southpaw to conventional at times, Cotto can be very effective in both positions.

You're boy would have a way better chance in a rematch than Cotto.
                    I think you know that.

so your saying 170 is a good weight to be for a welter in-between fights?
