Arum knows Cotto will most likely win his fight with Jennings for the vacant title. Also Cotto just lost, it was his first loss and devastating one at that, he needs a confidence builder.

also, cotto is much more marketable, even after the loss than margarito is. having cotto win the vacant title will give the june rematch with margarito a chance to unify the titles. a confidence builder is necessary after a loss like that.

Cotto is comin off a nasty KO loss. He deserves a gimme to get ready. And him havin a title just means the rematch will be a lil bigger cuz it's a unification fight.

And thats why he is in there with Jennings. I dont think Cotto would have been against fighting Clottey, Cintron or Berto, this is just what Arum wanted.
Also I bet Arum is thinking that giving them these fights gives Cotto a better shot in the rematch.

Because Cotto got KOd and Margarito is making a lot more then Cotto is. Mosley is a pretty "easy" fight for Margarito now too.

Actually Cotto is making his $3 million guarantee while Margarito is making somewhere between $2-2.5 million against Mosley's $2 million.
