Is Mike Tyson overrated by boxing fans?

I seen Mike Tyson's fight against James Tillis, and he looked like utter ****. It's no shock to me that Tyson lost to Buster Douglass, when he looked like utter **** against Tillis. And who the **** is James Tillis?

Absolutely. I consider Mike Tyson a B+ boxer at his best. Good, but not godly like he is made out to be by hordes of idiots who don't know boxing and make their boy out to be something he really isn't.

Overrated by some and underrated by others. Some people are so in love wit his prime yrs they forget how bad he fell apart, and some focus so much on his downward spiral they overlook how dominant he was BITD.

Tell me a fighter who could be undisputed at the age Tyson was. And that Brutal round KO over Spink. I don't think their is a boxer ever that would beat Tyson that now except the Ali that fought Williams.

All his losses were after his prime

In his day, 1985-1988, he was pretty unstoppable.

he had fast hands, ko power in both and he had stamina back then. Plus he was focused and wanted to win.

              Yes!

He is massively overrated by general public and fanatical fans. They have a 1001 excuses for every juncture of his career too.

He was 19 years old against Tillis and that was the first time he went up against an experienced veteran who could fight.

There's only 4 heavyweights i'd feel confident backing against Tyson

                  Prime Ali
                  Prime Foreman
                  Prime Holmes
                  Prime Lennox

Any other great HW and its a toss up IMO

Mike Tyson is God, haters go die.

Seriously tho for me if i think of him in prime for prime head to head matches then i rate him THE best or at very least top 3 but imma go with the best!

But i got no problem with people ranking him middle of the range on the all time ranks coz his career fell apart big, his prime was short, his competition not as good as some other greats and ofcourse his disgraces.

I guess he does get over rated by some of us but he also gets under rated by lots too.
