Floyd doesn't have the obligation to give every bum a payday just cuz he asks for it. He isn't running a soup kitchen. The only fighters he ought to give shots to are the ones who are skilled enough to be worthy to be in the ring with him, or the ones who can bring in the money he deserves to make (which is a damn sight more than $8 million). Margarito doesn't fit either of those categories, which is just too bad for him.

But don't you think in order to be a great fighter or an all time great, you should be taking some big risks in every weight class you step into? Floyd was still in his prime, and he chose not to fight the best at 147.

he fought the ones who were the best at the time.... cotto emerged after floyd first retired, marg after he had been retired. zab, dlh, and hatton were already at the top at the time.

He retired, came out of retirement, and ppl just expect him to start all over again..... thats not the way it works

Im only going to state facts....

FACT: Floyd mayweather owned the 130lb weight class, with big wins over fighters like chico corrales(34-0), and jesus chaves(35-1)

FACT: He then moved up to 135, beating JLC with a torn shoulder, and successfully defending his title in the rematch.

FACT: He then moved uo to 140, where he took a much more offensive approach, brawling more than boxing, proving he can take asmuch as he can give. He beat the likes of demarcus corley, and dominated the no. 1 light welterweight at the time, Mr. Gatti. during this time, he was feard by the likes of miguel cotto (for obvious reasons) and didnt hesitate to call out big names.

FACT: in his first fight at welterweight, he scored a body shot knockout ove sharmba mitchell, a fighter who many thought would give mayweather all that he could handle. He then faced zab juda, earning a UD. Then came carlos baldomir, the only boring fight of mayweathers career. He won every round on every score card, and people didnt appreciate his performance. Then he faced ODLH for a titleat 154. Even though he came into the fight underweight, he still pull out a SD(only because ODLH landed alot of scoring punches, like that bull**** body attack).

FACT: HE KNOCKED OUT RICKY HATTON, AND THE IGHT WAS NOWHERE NEAR BORING!!!!!

FACT: The only time floyd didnt beat everyone in a single diviion, was when he was at welterwieght. The only time floyd was boring was against carlos baldomir. He didnt fight cotto, because cotto ducked him at 140.

OPINION: Anyone that says that floyd sucks, is completly ignorant to true skills, and does not understand the concept of the sport.

I don't expect him to start all over again, because fighting Cotto or Margarito is fighting some unknown prospects. DLH was out of his prime in the first place and hadn't fought for quite a while, but he is the biggest name in the sport. Hatton wasn't a legit 147 lbs threat, but he is a huge name in the UK. I know why Floyd fought them.

What he did against a bum like Baldomir was.. I don't what you call it but it ****ing put me to sleep. I still got that **** on tape and i still watch it in case I run out of nyquil...no lie.
