Boxing would benefit from a singular, central governing body.

Plus the main org would not be able to keep the fighters under contract like the UFC does and that main org would eventually break up to what boxing is now, it's going to happen to the ufc sooner or later and they will end up just like boxing.

People are getting caught up into thinking the UFC is the way to go, I already posted earlier what the boxing PPV cards would look like if they were on a monthly basis like the UFC and didn't have SHO or HBO backing them up.

The best in boxing will fight the best, it just takes HBO and SHO to put preasure on them and tell them they won't put the fighters on their network for big money unless the fights are quality.
If the best will fight the best then how come Mayweather hasn't fought the top welterweights?
We need more then Sho and HBO to put pressure on fighters.

There would certainly be less padded records. People complain about how a 14-4 guy in UFC is a top dog...its because they don't get fed bums and waste peoples times with fights no one cares about Now I'm not a UFC fan by any stretch, but that's one aspect of it that I like.

Not like boxing...there aren't enough contenders. It's almost like if the only Welterweights were the top 10....obviously I'm exaggerating but you get the idea.

They build their records with like 3 fight and then they're fighting top guys. You can't even compare it.

Boxing just needs something to fix these damn cheating judges...bad decisions kill boxing more than anything else

Shane's win over Mayorga was anything but "flawless".
This is what worries me going into the Margarito fight..

We need more then Sho and HBO to put pressure on fighters.

Mayweather beat the best welters when he first got there, say what you want but Baldomir was the linear champion. Yes he isn't looking to fight the hardest fights now but when he makes $20 million plus a fight, he can pretty much do whatever he wants. Having a central org would not change things if the fighters don't have to fight to pay the bills, MMA fighters make peanuts they pretty much have to take what the promoter throws them.

HBO is the reason Roy Jones fought nobody's for years, HBO is the reason Floyd was able to pick and choose who to fight. If HBO said "**** you Floyd, fight this guy or you ain't fighting on HBO for big money" Mayweather would have had to make a choice whether to make big money or go to SHO. The networks have all the power, it's just they are pushovers to the promoters when it comes to making the best fights sometimes.

How much would it cost to actually buy the governing body (WBC,WBA,WBO,IBF)? Then just form the super belt
