If it were true Margarito would never be allowed to box. I know someone who has metal plates in his face, well if he actually gets hit in the face he will have some very serious problems.

I'm sure it has been said before. But what hurts a fighter is usually one of two things. They either get hit hard enough to get a concussion where their brain bounces around inside their skull too hard. Or getting hit in the jaw can cause a nerve to get hit.

How would a metal plate help either of these?
