Even if RJJ did get spanked by Calzaghe, and is washed up like nobodies buisness, i still think the rematch between Hopkins and RJJ is long long overdue, ad it should happen.

Any other fight is pointless. These guys are not the Best anymore and are probably as good as retired.

Going after new guys like Dawson pointless, there will be calls to go fo other news guys, move up weights after that etc.

Hopkins-Rjj 2 as a farewell match would be cool. Though RJJ has long ducked and dodged Hopkins for a rematch, im pretty sure he'll do the same now

Calzaghe has planned to retire for a long time now, and has been open and transparent about that, saying this is most likely his last fight. That of course receives coverage in the media. Did you somehow miss that?

So how is it jumping the gun to merely re-iterate that, and say IF he retires, so not even saying certain.

        You are rather silly.

Kessler fans love that fight too. Hopkins just has to sign the deal and the fight is on. Does he dare?. "Kessler is not in my league man - who is Kessler?"
Well only one way to found out. (anyone said "The Julekalender")

Dawson/tarver II is a waste of my time and everybody elses time. Tarver has nothing left! But, when dawson beats tarver again it'll boost his profile and then maybe make a bigger money fight with hopkins. At the moment dawson just isn't a big enough name, but he will be. Hopkins has no choice to fight dawson because there is nobody else out there (except calzaghe).

Has Dawson said he wants the fight? I think its a lose-lose situation. If Hopkins wins, Dawson was overrated all along. If Dawson wins... people will say... "First Johnson... then Hopkins... why doesn't he fight someone born after the disappearance of the dinosaurs!"

If Dawson really wants the fight, I say let him have it. Winning won't be easy but the Hopkins trickery against Pavlik won't confuddle Dawson. But Chad certainly doesn't owe the public a fight that is just going to gain him scorn from boxing fans. None of B-Hops conquerers have been openly praised for wins over him. Taylor, was scorned after a hazy victory, and even moreso after a crystal clear victory in their rematch. Don't even get me started on the criticism of Calzaghe after his win over Hopkins.

I wish Kessler would fight anybody with a name.

Great fighter id hate to see him waste his career fighting nobodies.

He would probably like to have the long-overdue rematch from RJJ, but im sure RJJ would probably come up with an excuse
If he wants to retire then I've got no problem with that... but if he's going to keep fighting, and insisting he is still one of the best, expecting to find himself at the top of the p4p list, then he should continue to prove himself against good fighters... including young, undefeated ones like Dawson. He did it against Pavlik, so I can't understand the sentiment that Dawson doesn't deserve a shot as well.
