If Calzaghe does retire, Hopkins should fight Taylor and knock him out to set the record straight.
Dawson is undefeated with recent wins over Tarver and Johnson, but doesn't "deserve a shot" at BHOP, but Taylor, who has lost 2 out of his last 3 fights, with those losses to a guy that Hopkins dominated, does "deserve a shot"?

    Very confusing.

Not to mention the fact you think Hopkins KO's Taylor... that is beyond confusing.

Dawson would put a shellacking on Bhop so severe that he wouldn't pick up a microphone for an entire month,.. he'd probably go underground for the remainder of the year,.. working strickly as a Golden Boy Exec behind closed doors,.. He'd beat him worse than Calzaghe beat Jones....

Another way to look at this fight could be as a potential 'passing of the torch' fight.

It might not help Bernard's legacy significantly.

But let's say Chad wins. It might just be the fight that springs him into stardom.

I wouldn't mind seeing this fight on HBO.

Not only that but i think his win over Adamek is underrated as well, and i don't think Taylor was even Hopkin's mandatory either, he just took the fight because he was considering retirement at that time and a win over an up and coming hot prospect the way Jermain was would make him so good cash on top of adding to his legacy.

I've already explained my reasons as to why I think Hopkins should not fight Dawson. And I never said Taylor 'deserves' a shot at Hopkins. The reason I would like Hopkins fight Taylor is because Hopkins has two "losses" against Taylor. So it would be nice to see Hopkins finishing his career against a guy that apparently beat him twice.

And I never said Hopkins would KO Taylor. I said he should KO him. As a B-Hop fan I would love to see this happen, I never said it would happen.

Please read posts carefully in the future. I hope this has cleared up some of your bewilderment.

So he beat two guys Hop already annihilated.. big deal. If Dawson and Cal mixed it up and Chad won, now that could get his attention.. but the chances of that taking place even within next year are likely dismal.
Calzaghe would tell Bernard and Dawson to fight, and he might take the winner. The LHW division is thin. Not much money to be made there. But Bernard should not be ranked as a LHW, since he has not really fought at that weight since the Tarver fight. 170 is not a weight class. Dawson would be the best LHW he has fought.

That would be a good match up. It'll let Dawson gauge where he is against a Legend, and Hopkins will still be a force to reckon with.

If this ever happens, i'm goin with Hopkins all the way. I kinda like Dawson, but i'm down with Hopkins in '09.

Who was the last southpaw BHOP fought? It was the Winkster wasn't it?

Calzaghe would do that. What's the great Joe without pushing for a buffer?
