    80's Boxing vs. 90's Boxing

I really wasnt into the boxer of the 80's. Except for Sugar Ray Leonard of course. But the Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Panzeria, Norton, Mayweather Sr., Pryor....i never really got into them. I know all about "The Four Kings" and "No Mas" and all that jazz, but boxing of the 80's never appealled to me. Loved the 80's just not hella juiced in the boxing department.

Now, the 90's i can dig. It was more of a time for the Heavyweights though. that's the class that i paid close attention to. Why? "Kid Dynamite" of course. Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Holmes, Lewis, RJJ, Foreman, Bryd, Toney....
Hated the 90's loved 90's boxing.

Many people blame the decline in boxing's popularity to the 90's

In the 90's? Yeah i can see that. They packaged it more as entertainment back then, but it was filled with good heavyweights.

You can't say the heavyweights of today are more exciting than the ones in the 90's.

Thank you. That's all i'm sayin....

I actually really like the New Millenium boxing too. It's picking up, don't worry.

Boxing is getting back on the mainstream stage.

I was into the 80's boxing more than the 90's. I didn't watch a lot of boxing in the 90's (except for Tyson and Hamed), I watched UFC and it's beginnings during this time. Nobody can compete the boxing during the 80's specially in the lower weight classes (Feather-Light-Welter-Middle)

the 80's was all about talent..the smaller divisions ruled..just like the current scene..maybe next decade the heavies will return
