The Margarito Mosley fight may prove to achieve the exact opposite with the lower prices and less presold tickets.I agree.
In addition, garnering new fans does not seem to be very high on a boxing promoter's priority list either.
I'll use the biggest fight in boxing of 2008 as an example. Only 500 tickets were available to the general public. 500.
The rest of the tickets were sold to corporate interests and the overwhelming majority of people who were in the house that night were not boxing fans but rather star gazers. It’s because the promoters don’t care about expanding the fan base and selling tickets to true boxing fans. It’s greedy. Such a strategy makes money in the short term, but it slowly and surely kills the sport when you don’t allow the real fans to see your event.Comment

Where's the "If I wanted to watch half-naked men hug each on the floor for a half an hour, I would have stayed with my Stepfather when he had Uncle Ricky over" Option?Comment

I was thinking of putting an "I'd rather Watch Mtv's Bromance" option.. I'm not sure if that counts as g*yer than hooking up with Uncle Ricky.Comment

The real issue is Dana White.. The man is all about marketing and Building his fan base up.. He is responsible for always bringing up Boxing VS UFC..
Not MMA , which was never an issue, until the UFC came along
Dana white sees boxing fans as Potential UFC fans.. and is doing whatever he can to convince Boxing fans that Boxing is dying and the UFC is where it's at..
He sees boxing as the threat to UFC growth...Comment

totally agree with you.Hm, I'm not understand the versus part.
I love both sports.
I don't really see the need to have to choose a side. Actually, as a fight fan I think its great that I have some options now. Both sports have their dull, and lackluster fights, and both have exciting fights worth paying for.
Also, expect to see more quality boxing matches and PPV cards on a consistent basis, due to the success of MMA.
Win-win situation for us as fans, in my opinion.Comment
