Sometimes nsb members talk about MMA like they've never sat through a fight so I'm wondering where everyone stands. Please note that I do not like the UFC and sadly would probably find it a bit enjoyable if UFC went bankrupt. Just wondering where everyone stands.Comment

Hm, I'm not understand the versus part.
I love both sports.
I don't really see the need to have to choose a side. Actually, as a fight fan I think its great that I have some options now. Both sports have their dull, and lackluster fights, and both have exciting fights worth paying for.
Also, expect to see more quality boxing matches and PPV cards on a consistent basis, due to the success of MMA.
Win-win situation for us as fans, in my opinion.Comment

I don't really have anything against it, just don't find it entertaining. I get mad when MMA fans try to put boxing in a bad spot though, boxing has been here for years with recognition, MMA is just a new thing that attracts youngsters because of its blood and brawls compared to boxing. For someone to say that it will one day overtake boxing is pure craziness..they have been saying that for a while now and nothing has happened yet.Comment

I think the third option will be the most popular choice on this website. However I do agree there are many perks from the competition. At the end of the day though.. I think promoters are still frequently thinking only of their immediate financial interest and not the interest of boxing as a whole.Hm, I'm not understand the versus part.

You forgot to add the choice labeled "MMA vs. Boxing is a BS argument because both sports have their ups and downs and can co exist if everyone just shuts up about it".
I will say this, the one thing I hate about each sport are the sack inhaling fanboys who say BS like "MMA haz no skillz!!" and "Boxing iz dying and is boring!!1". Both sports can do without those idiots.Comment

I think promoters are still frequently thinking only of their immediate financial interest and not the interest of boxing as a whole.
In addition, garnering new fans does not seem to be very high on a boxing promoter's priority list either.
I'll use the biggest fight in boxing of 2008 as an example. Only 500 tickets were available to the general public. 500.
The rest of the tickets were sold to corporate interests and the overwhelming majority of people who were in the house that night were not boxing fans but rather star gazers. It’s because the promoters don’t care about expanding the fan base and selling tickets to true boxing fans. It’s greedy. Such a strategy makes money in the short term, but it slowly and surely kills the sport when you don’t allow the real fans to see your event.Comment
