Mike is an ATG..I cannot put in words what he did for this sport..I hate it with a passion that he ruined his career because in my eyes he was the best..God truly indeed broke the mold after Tyson..DLH couldnt hold Tyson jock strap when it comes to selling out fights..Tyson will put anyone that come in contact with him in awe..This is my opinion and soley my opinion I think he a very genuine nice guy that is misunderstood..My dad boxed so i was always into it..But it was Mike that pretty much captivated me with his destruction of opponents..But mainly because after every knockout he would help you up or tell you something..He was kind hearted to the max and was taken advantage of..

Great fighter, captivated people like no-one had seen since Ali, he's been overrated by people through the years but he was still a great fighter

Awww shiiit... i gotta speak on this.

I went through the whole post-Tyson phase, where everyone started to dislike him because of his mental troubles in the ring.

Then came Tyson vs. Lewis. I wanted Lewis to KO Tyson which he did, but i remember feeling bad for Tyson cus he didn't stand a chance.

Tyson's back on my list. The more you watch documentaries about Tyson you start to see the ugliness of his career. Sure, he has impluse control problems. A lot of people do. But you can't ***** all over the guy cus he needs mental help. In fact he did receive a lot of mental treament. It's just a twist of irony he became the most ferocious boxer out there.

It was the people who handled Tyson, or should i say mishandled, that screwed most of his career. They kept his brain cloudy with things like: Tigers, cars, mansions, Robin Givens etc. etc.

Tyson does need to take responsibilty for his actions. In fact, the Tyson now is taking responsibilty for things in the past and then some. It's a sad case with Tyson. But he's back on my list.

In the late 80's and early 90's i was all about Tyson. Then it died down when he went to prison. Then picked up in '96 again. Then died down when he bit Holyfield's ear. Then picked up again when he injuried his knee with what's his name. So now, Tyson's back on my list. I'm so juiced he's actually in a video game again. He was banned from being in Video Games throughout the 90's and early millenium.

Iron Mike "Kid Dynamite" Tyson is the dopest

Everyone should miss Tyson, whether they like him or not. His career and his life has been a ****** and tragic and incredibly successful one, but one way or the other he was always utterly intriguing. He was one of the biggest personalities in a sport that badly requires some at the moment.

              Agreed.

Didn't that "lady" accuse someone else of **** also? I'm pretty sure she did.

Yeah she accused the quarterback of the football team of ****, which she later admitting to lying about. That court case was a disaster, the person I blame the most is Don King for getting Mike a ****** tax attorney instead of a real attorney. Between that and being railroaded in the racist Indiana court system, it really did ruin a great career as he was never the same. Tyson's style requires repetition and being behind bars for 3 years is far too much inactivity for that type of style.

Anyways, I disagree with this author on many different points, I never could understand why is it that Tyson nevers gets an ounce of credit for beating Larry Holmes, but Tyson detractors/Lewis fans are always quick to note Lennox's win over Tyson as one of his better fights. Never made sense to me, especially when you consider that Holmes would never be knocked out again and Tyson was 15 years past his best when he fought Lewis. I have more to say about this, but I will do it later on when I have some more time.

I don't agree with this writer's belief that Mike just happen to come along at the right time and that he was overrated. Mike would have been a dominant fighter at any era. He could have beaten any heavyweight with the exception of Foreman imo. He would have given Ali fits and would have beaten Holmes. Its unfortunate that he essentially threw it all away, because he could have been the greatest fighter that ever lived.
