I think at the moment, Paul Williams can no longer be called a welterweight. His last two fights have been north of that division and he just picked up a title belt at 154.
He no longer has his WBO belt at 147, so saying that just because he won a title at a different division like Floyd did by moving up and fighting Oscar doesn't apply here. He no longer has his old belt to come back to like Mayweather did. I bring up Mayweather by the way 'cause somebody used that example in an argument with me in another topic...also regarding Williams.
Will Paul ever fight at welterweight again? If the right fight comes up, he says he will. But as it stands right now, he is NO LONGER a welterweight.Comment

Not this again... SRL/ Hearns/ Tito/ SRR/ Margarito/ Paul all HUGE WWs. Paul CAN be beat...just like any other fighter. If Cotto can get on the inside early Cotto could possibly beat him, As for Margarito...I really can't see Margarito ever beating Paul..Clottey's workrate ain't good enough(Don't matter anyway cuz Arum wouldn't put Clottey against Paul), Berto is too green, Cintron has no heart...
I guess another Quintana match? Back to the subject! If they make weight they belongComment

Just because you're taller, doesn't mean you're body is bigger. In all honesty, Margarito is probably the bigger guy against Williams. Just the shape of Williams body allows him to move up with more success.
Reardless, if you can make the weight and still be successful, you can belong in the division. Simple as that.Comment
