he's 5'7", I guess that's big enough, why woud he thou? real question is would his power carry on to a bigger division. He should stay at 22 for now, if he doesn't get the Vazquez fight, unify against someone else and then consider moving up to 26.Comment

He more or less said he will fight whoever if the money is right. You would be surprised at how much money Vazquez could make against someone like a Chris John or a Rocky Juarez as oppossed to a Juanma. Juanman doesn't exactly make a fortune per fight, Izzy makes a lot more than him.
you are right...
but juanma is on the right direction on that matter....
in his last fight he earn more than celestino caballero & molitor purses together in their unification bout....
i think juanma have earn his shot....right now juanma have all the tools to make it a great card which will leave izzy with plenty of money.... (following & belt )
no denial.... izzy makes tons of more than juanma.....
but that cant be a factor.. cos a fight with juanma will be very lucrative for him! and im pretty sure juanma wont matter that izzy takes the bigger piece ...
maybe he wants to wins another title in other div....and thats cool.... but money wise @ 126 i dont think theres anyone that will leave him more money than fighting juanma!!Last edited by mellow_mood; 12-29-2008, 08:49 AM.Comment

Agree with most of the posters who think he should stay at 122. The only fight that makes sense at 126 is against Chris John, who has beaten nobody other that J.M. Marquez in his hometown. Thing is, while Juanma is a more dangerous as a puncher, John is probably the wrong style for Vasquez. Particularly if Vasquez has been diminished by the Marquez fights, he may wind up getting outquicked by JohnComment

I would have said no before, but now I think he can. There's a a picture around with Calderon, Cotto, and Lopez, and Lopez has even bigger hands than Cotto, while it's not everything, ti's a good indicator of how far up one can go up in weight without losing significant power.Comment
