I still find it hard to believe that Hopkins was a 4 to 1 underdog against Pavlik.

The odds very often reflect the momentary fads and fashions. Pavlik was the flavor of the month so he gets all the accolades. Nobody likes Hopkins so of course people, including, the odds makers, dismiss his skill and ability. Have you forgotten that Hopkins was also an underdog to Felix Trinidad? Styles make fights and Hopkins clearly had a style advantage over both Pavlik and Trinidad. Why they would have chosen Hopkins as an opponent is a mystery to me.

No way man, I haven't forgotten about Hopkins being the underdog against Trinidad. I picked Hopkins in that fight too. Against Pavlik, it seemed obvious to me that Hopkins would give Pavlik a boxing lesson. There was comments all over the forums like "Kelly is gonna be the first man to KO Hopkins!" and "Hopkins will be KO'd within ___ rounds, he's got no chance!", and ridiculous **** like this.

I guess most people just didn't see Pavlik's limitations at the time.

Listen up. Hopkins told Pavlik to get straight back in the gym and listen to his coach. Bend his knees and get some slickness like a black fighter. He said if Kelly doesn't do that, he'll go over there with a baseball bat and make him do it. I forget the exact wording, but I have the video right here on my PC. I can type it out for you, but do I have to?

You have simply misinterpreted what Hopkins was saying. If Hopkins was training him, it would be big news in the boxing world.
